In the sixties the Vallejo was quite the hangout. Jean Varda, a painter, Onslo Ford and Alan Watts, Zen Buddist philosopher, lived aboard. Along with them were the "dancing girls." An old ferryboat moored in Sausalito, the SS Vallejo transformed lives as well as hosted many parties. The stories from this era of her existence must be in the millions. I hope to get one or two from my new friend Pierre Grimes, who was in attendance at some of these.
