"Strange Fruit"
I had a hard time using this title for a post as is all my post titles are songs I have or can think of that relate to the photo.
As not to make light of the tragic events that lead to the song's composing, there is a link
in the post title to the actual horrific photo and story of how Billie Holiday made this song well known.
As in making art, things take on different meanings in different contexts.
(ie;Tony Alva has nothing to do with slavery or murder)
Now, to the lighter side of things.

For the few that don't know, the 'Fruit Bowl' was an abandoned sanatarium that proved to be the site of a major evolution in skateboarding as well as many rival teams battling for dominant style and inovation.
There was no doubt that the Adams/Alva sessions there were beyond anything and anybody.
When they showed up, many (including myself) did'nt skate because if you were in the pool then no matter what "it was on". So I watched. My friend and Hobie 'Team' member
did however and did very well. (He was born in the wrong town and was a Z-Boy in his blood)
That was an epic time in skate history. The pool was perfect shape yet had a gutter under the coping. Then came the wood extension. Even that did'nt stop the Quest for height as the Dog boys and some others were edging at the top of it!
Besides being a good bowl, it was a cool hang with no grumpy old ladies calling the man and you could do what you wanted.
Then, of course, after many photo shoots and sessions, it was discovered by Brother and destroyed.
"Ya know, we just can't let these kids do what they want."
They could've just turned it into a skate park.
FYI: 'Strange Fruit' is also an LP Label.
