"The Road to Peace 2007"

by Malcolm Campbell - Sun December 31st, 2006 Via: Bonzer World and Transafixion While putting together my New Years thoughts on Peace, I listened to a Tom Waits song that I had not heard before. The song is titled, ‘Road To Peace’, and it chronicles a period of the ongoing, eye for an eye, escalation of violence in the Israeli, Palestinian conflict. At the conclusion of the song he poses this question: “Maybe God himself is lost And he needs help Maybe God himself needs All of our help And he’s lost upon The road to peace” This crystallized my thoughts; don’t look outward, don’t look upward, look within. Peace is our responsibility. It will not come from some mysterious force or personality, no matter how much we ask or pray. We must examine our own place in the ‘great dilemma’. We are the agents of peace, and we are the agents of war. It’s wake up time. The velocity of our flight through this space-time continuum is increasing exponentially. Economic, social, technological, and environmental changes and challenges are whizzing by. The way to slow things down and get a grasp, is to build a consciousness vehicle that unifies the past, present and future. The stillness and clarity within this dimension is created by the energies of unconditional Peace, Love, and Forgiveness. This is a vehicle of sustainability, both social and environmental, because within this mindful state, we dissolve the illusion that we are somehow separate from our fellow human beings, and the totality of our planetary environment. Do not despair in the apocalyptic visions of the selfish and fearful. The Road To Peace, and Evolutionary Sustainability exists, and it is paved with our compassion.
