I said it before and I will say it again - The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion was ahead of their time. These two reissues not only give sonic upgrades to each record but now makes the previously only released in Japan live album Controversial Negro [1997] an absolute must for US fans that have never have laid their ears on it. Live was always where Spencer ruled the stage and this reissue adds ten bonus tracks on the set list which include fan favorites "Bellbottoms" and "Greyhound". It expanded the total tracks to 29 and is a hour and fourteen minutes of dirty blues rock that is a thrilling ride to the end. Now I Got Worry [1996] was remastered from the original master tapes and has been doubled in length to 32 tracks. It is just another solid record in Spencer's collection and sounds just as fresh and rocking today. The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion should be a band you know about and these reissues plus The First Ten Years [2010] compilation gives you every opportunity to start your education!
