Alive Inside is the story of Dan Cohen, a small town social worker who discovers the power personalized music has to “awaken” and regenerate deeply locked memories in patients with dementia and Alzheimer’s.
Today, in the US alone, there are 5 million people suffering from Alzheimer’s and dementia, and this number is expected to double in the next 25 years. A staggering 1 in 6 of us will develop some form of dementia and, with the world’s population aging, this number will only increase.
Alive Inside follows Dan as he struggles to change the lives for those affected, and to make personalized music a standard of care in all 16,000 nursing homes in the US.
