James Gadson behind Bill Withers
Gadson was the drummer/ producer/ writer on most of the classic Bill Withers LP 'Still Bill'. The studio version of 'No Sunshine' from his 1st LP was on 'Just as I Am' with the other great line-up with Al Jackson Jnr etc. The new band was Withers' touring band. (The Watts 103rd Street Rhythm Band) "the second studio album by American soul musician Bill Withers, released in 1972 by Sussex Records. It includes two hit singles: "Lean on Me", which is number 205 on Rolling Stone's 500 Greatest Songs of All Time and went to number 1 on the Billboard pop and R&B charts in summer of 1972; and "Use Me", which went to number two on the same charts in fall of 1972."
