Where's the Warmth?

Husbands So many great films and performances by John Cassavetes with Gena Rowlands, Peter Falk, Ben Gazarra and Seymour Cassel etc, that I won't even attempt to summarize. I'll leave that to this comprehensive page at http://www.johncassavetes.net/ (many trailers and plot summaries) He and his collaborators were the real deal and make "The Rat Pack" seem like sissys. Serious about art in film and deep character studies, kept the majority from seeing his work at the time, yet now we're lucky enough to see them all. Husbands and A woman under the influence are two of my many favorites.(also see"Faces") Keep on the look out as revival theaters will sometimes do Cassavetes marathons. A great way to spend a rainy day. (Gena Rowlands' performance in "woman..." is off the map. "phffftttp") A woman under the influence I love the scowl. As director; * Shadows (1959) * Too Late Blues (1961) * A Child Is Waiting (1963) * Faces (1968) * Husbands (1970) * Minnie and Moskowitz (1971) * A Woman Under the Influence (1974) * The Killing of a Chinese Bookie (1976) * Opening Night (1977) * Gloria (1980) * Love Streams (1984) * Big Trouble (1986)
