Full Circle And Unbroken

Spritualized at the Echo, Sept 18 ("secret show") I've seen this band, well let's just say a lot. Throughout the years Jason had tried many different line ups from him solo to the full on overblown choir, horn section, etc. Well it seems he's back to the minimalist(for him) rock show and with some fresh chord changes to boot. Yes there are the standard lyric themes of drugs, Jesus, etc., but there was a fresh energy on stage which was nice to see. The new LP does have it's low points but there are some surprising moments of songwriting with a few very American sounding progressions. As far as the show.... It just rocked completely. Really loud, packed to the gills with stinky sweaty fans and GREAT SOUND. YOU COULD HERE EVERYTHING! My one gripe would be the rhythm section was flat. Very solid but no personality. I much preferred the "Lazer Guided Melodies" era band. (with one exeption, this new guitar player is an awesome addition with some fresh sounds. A positive experience. Good to see Jason is happy with things as well. (note; sorry Jacob, there was no time to call. A last minute call.)
