L'anamour
Beck & Jane Birkin....
Written and made famous by Serge Gainsbourg but recorded by many.
I just love this period of French pop music especially the Gainsbourg songs con chantuese. See the Serge and Jane back in their prime .... and thee funkiest and coolest Frenchman ever.
Yeh, may be trendy now to dig it , but hey...... Is it not good? Beck does a great job wing'in it here and still pulls off the 60's 'love duet'.
Cigarettes, wine, French 60's models and the coolest composer/actor/swinger/performer
of the period make for a kind of life...... in dreams.
Jane's first big break was in the award-winning 1966 British-Italian art film classic "Blow Up" The film was inspired by the short story "Las Babas del Diablo" ("The Droolings of the Devil") by Argentinian writer Julio Cortázar, and by the work, habits, and mannerisms of Swinging London photographer David Bailey. An absolute must see!
In a scene near the end, The Yardbirds perform "Stroll On", Jimmy Page and Jeff Beck play side by side until Beck smashes his guitar in a staged Townsend interpretation.
