"Without Her"

Harry Nilsson - "Without Her" (1971) I got a feeling most people don't even know who Nilsson is? Another stellar songwriter/performer mostly known for the song that set the mood for the great movie Midnight Cowboy "Everybody's Talkin"(written by Fred Neil, another of similar unknown talent) But Nilsson had some top ten success and two Grammys in the 60's! There's a load of great stuff out there now with demos and forgotten gems to find. I believe that "Nilsson Shmillson" was one of his more popular lp's later in his career. During his L.A. years that coincided with John Lennon's Yoko break up, the two were a couple o' troublemakers doin' the rock thing but recording as well! (in between trashing hotels and banned from clubs) Personal Note:While working as a house painter for Rick Rubin's new purchase in Hollywood years ago, we were given the rundown on the history of Nilsson's ownership of the mansion. I could go on a bit but let's say that, at the time it was at least Ringo, Lennon and Harry living there. There was drunken damage to the place which was left untouched for a selling point to some, I suspect. I must say being a fan of all players and history itself, this was pretty cool. (Yeh, I'm a big NERD) edit. Oh and the gaping hole in the mahogany elevator doors happened when Ringo got stuck in the antique thang and busted his way out. So I heard.
