KING CRIMSON - "Discipline" (1981) Fripp makes a good point here, with all the intricate noodling he does, how the lack of clutter from the drums frees him to explore that area with guitar as one of the main melodic roles. Don't get me wrong, drums as well as bass are melodic instruments , it's just a different take on each combo's personality and line-up. muso post.
