"Spirit Of Eden"
When Patagonia needed to expand its distribution center in Reno, Nevada they looked to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design, or LEED, certification standards as a guide to building a green building to balance environmental responsibility, resource efficiency and the comfort and well-being of their workforce. Patagonia set high environmental standards for the one-hundred-and-seventy- one-thousand square-foot expansion of its warehouse facility and outlet store. This video highlights some examples of the efforts Patagonia made to mitigate the building's effect on the environment and to meet the LEED silver certification standard.
Video covers the following subjects: 1. Storm-Water Runoff Management 2. Landscape and Exterior Design 3. Water Conservation and Energy Efficiency 4. Recycled and Environmentally Friendly Construction Materials 5. Green Housekeeping, Alternative Transportation and Recycling.
